For the past 10 years, CATZ: Competitive Athlete Training Zone has been the region's leader in youth and professional athlete performance training. Locally CATZ has trained thousands of athletes in a variety of sports "Prepare to be GREAT", while professional CATZ athletes include former Duke University lacrosse and MLL star Matt Danowski. Nationally, CATZ athletes include international soccer superstar David Beckham, world champion boxer Oscar de la Hoya and numerous Olympic gold medalists, including volleyball's Misti May-Treanor. The Competitive Athlete Training Zone is not only Long Island's most experienced and successful athlete training facility, but is also its largest, having moved into Coastal Sports in October of 2012. CATZ was also voted to Men's Health Magazine's "Top 10 Gyms in America" list on three consecutive occasions. CATZ is once again excited to be offering a Winter Speed & Agility Clinic through the SBC at a significant discount off their normal pricing. The Speed & Agility Camp is offered to youth athletes in the Smithtown School District and runs 6 weeks, from January 2nd through March. The price includes 12 sessions. Each session focuses on all of the essential components of athleticism and explosive speed and agility development; flexibility, upper and lower body power, core strength, stride length/frequency and proper running mechanics. The sessions will take place at the climate-controlled CATZ facility conveniently located in Coastal Sports; 114 Parkway Drive South, Hauppauge and administered by CATZ's expert staff of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Exercise Physiologists.
The Smithtown Booster Club's CATZ Winter Speed & Agility Clinic offers parents a choice of training days and times for their kids. Make up sessions are also offered daily.
